I can relate. The week after I got married I went back to work and had some really mean people subtly (and not so subtly) saying nasty things about me and my very new marriage. My wife had a similar situation with one particular co-worker who made it her mission to make my wife's life a living hell at work.
It's easy to say "keep your head up" and "things will get better!" but I know how hard it can be in the moment when you have to deal with it. It feels overwhelming and awful. The thing is, though, it WILL get better, I promise you that...it just takes time.
Is there any authority figure you can bring this up with at work? Do you have a supervisor who would be supportive? Do you have a Human Resources office that you could approach about this situation?
Can you take your lunch outside if the weather is nice? Sometimes a change of scenery works wonders and can take a little stress off of your shoulders for a while.
Do you have a hobby you could do at lunch and after work to help with stress relief? I love to draw and swim and those two things help me feel a lot better mentally...I draw at lunch and swim every night after work. It's like meditation, in a way, and really helps with my stress levels.
Kind of extreme, but could you change jobs or departments?
Just a few thoughts from someone who has been there. Stay strong and do your best to look at every option that comes your way - you never know from what direction a new set of better circumstances may come.
