Hi all, so this will be my first post about me since i have joined a couple weeks ago...really one of the main reasons i joined. So anyways, the background: My fiance and I have been together almost 4 years. We met on our boat and fooled around before we actually made it official. She is my first girlfriend and *knock on wood* hopefully my last. She is 6 years my younger, but she has actually helped me to mature in ways that my mother is very greatful for, lol. She has helped me to come out to my family....actually she was the only reason i came out to my family. The intimacy the first couple of years was great and then started to wane, only with me. She has a very healthy appetite for intimacy and I don't know why I have not been so interested or wanting of it. I put this out here for advice as to what I might be able to do to try to fix this. She is out to sea and coming home from deployment in about a month and a half. I love her with all my heart and soul. Every time she smiles I melt....I just don't know where my desire has gone. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

congrats on her coming home soon, thats exciting. The relationship sounds wonderful.... You both are very fortunate, you mentioned the intimacy aspect, which seems to be more at some times and less at other times, this is a normal flow of feelings that can be related to outside circumstances, work related stress, health issues, was wondering if your non interest began to surface when u knew she was going to be leaving for deployment? (maybe a way of self protection of your feelings?) are you concerned it will continue to be something u feel when she gets home? seems you both have a good relationship w good communication, thats the starting point, take things one step at a time, and allow moods to build rather then expecting them just to happen, the more stress thats placed o you by you, the less likely u may be to feel in te mood for intimacy, rem also intimacy doesnt have to be sxual, it can be holding hands, looking into one anothers eyes, it can be a shared smile across the room at the same time, or simply holding one another while sleeping, intimacy happens long before physical contact reaches more private zones,,,, wishing u the best,,,,
