I think it comes with age, and even moreso, maturity levels. Even older people thrive on drama.....I hate it...I think I may be allergic to it lol.
I think it's finding someone you mesh with that keeps the drama low. If you are with someone who, for instance, likes to party and always entertain and have people over all the time and/or go out and you are an introverted type who likes the quiet life....that WILL lead to drama. That's just one example that came to mind, there can be MANY reasons for drama in ones life.
I want more than anything for my life to be in a "drama free zone" and will do what I need to to keep that a must!
Personally, I think the whole world is full of drama ~ gay or straight. There is alot pettiness in the world and a large percentage of folks just can't be happy if they aren't butting their noses into others business, talking about someone or allowing their emotions to dictate how they view life and others.
I've found that the only way I can avoid it is to control myself. I've been friends and lovers with people who don't even realize they are participating in drama.
I simply don't participate. I say 'nothing'. I don't add to the converation, laugh or give these people any idea that I want to be involved.
My X was into talking about her new friends,..and even worked her butt off to oust people from her group of friends by OCD'ing on very silly, stupid things. I've seen grown adults cry because of her unaware love of drama. I remained quietly in shock.
I believe you can limit the drama in your life if you choose to and it's actually easier than you might think! Just stand your ground.
