She was the only woman who made me realize that being gay is okay. I used to stick to the norm, but then it was she who made me brave enough to come out, especially to my mom. We are only a little past our first year in the relationship, but she's already starting to give up. When I ask why, she's just not happy anymore, that the problem is with her and not with me. Her tone was full of uncertainty, it's like she was not even sure it was the right answer. She agreed to talk about things today because I still wanted to patch things up with her. As far as I know, I never did anything to smother her. I let her go out with friends, I let her do whatever she wants. I was never the strict type of girlfriend.

I know there are others who might think that the relationship is still young, that I should just move on and think that someone better is out there. But for someone who has finally had the guts to come out to her family, no words can measure how much pain is on me right now. I'm meeting her later at a tea cafe, where she agreed to talk. I'm afraid she might only give me answers that are uncertain, such as "I don't know..." "Maybe..." I can handle any concrete reason for her breaking up with me, as long as it's the truth. What should I do to let her feel that it's okay to tell me what the deal really is? I cannot fathom why would somebody break up with their relationship partners without any real reason? Don't we all deserve at least the truth? :(
