I am so happy about some things in my life... down 110 lbs..amazing to me. My personal life is in shambles... my spouse is so ill. There is a fine line of living and dying for her. I am tense all the time, not having a great deal of contact with the outside world. My computer is my only comfort, I reach out to others in cyber space. Some friends I have found, we have become true friends. I just feel I need to do more, be more. Hard to explain, just what I am really feeling. With Nancy being in the hospital so much, I realize that I do miss my life as a nurse. But at my age, it would be hard to go back. Then I would have to think about who would take care of Nancy. Catch 22...... I am thinking about starting a Domestic Violence Support Group, in a local church. What should I do???

REACH OUT TO WHOMEVER YOU CAN. THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GROUP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SAVING MY LIFE AND IS A BEAUTIFUL SUPPORT GROUP. YOU NEED TO THINK OF YOURSELF AND DO LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL ALIVE AND NEEDED. YOU ARE NOT TO OLD TO GO BACK TO WORK. VOLUNTEER OR DO A GROUP. HELPING PEOPLE MAKES US FEEL ALIVE AND NEEDED AND SO MUCH BETTER. DONT FEEL GUILTY FOR LEAVING HER SOMETIMES IT IS HEALTHY AND NEEDED. SHE IS LUCKY TO HAVE YOU IN HER LIFE BUT YOU ALSO NEED TRY TO THINK OF YOURSELF. HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER SOON

You are one beautiful success story..in so many ways dear one!!! Never forget that! Let your successes and giving heart be your guide to finding a life outside your current little world! There is no -age limit - on which we should give up finding our own personal joys in the big, wide world around us.

You obviously have quite a bit of positive energy flowing inside to come up with such a caring, giving thought of helping others. Do it! Don't hesitate. This alone will set you on a new path, bringing many caring, giving souls into your life and soon you will be overflowing with a happy, content life of your very own!!

I have noiced when she is in the hosp u r at peace and more outgoing, when home u seem more overwhelmed and distraught, im sorry . had i not read where this may be indefinite? hon, my dad who i moved back here to care for walking away from my home, a town i loved, and caring for another wore me out as well as my mom ( iwas lucky we were both there to do his care) she accepted no one helping but us to, it was an overload, as much as i will lways love my father, when he woke up one moning and had to be taken to the hosp and 21 days later passed w pneumonia w us by his side, it was hard to lose him but a relief that he wasnt suffering and even a relief that we could breath again,,,,,, hon it is hard, do u have ouside help? what specefically is her health probl? does she have other family? what about you in all tis and taking care of yourself? alienation isnt good or healthy? endless hrs of caring for another can hrow u into depression as well as lead to health issues for you. sending a hug,,,,,,, and want u to know i am here as is the group....... sound like some decisions and choices have to be made in re to her care, what are your thoughts? what have you ad suggested? so much to think about...... im sorry things is so hard . we are here. sending a hug,,, KD
