For the last 14 years I have had this unbreakable bond with a woman. We even lost contact for three years and then reconnected. My heart says I am madly in love with her, but my mind tries to convince me other wise. We were briefly involved many years ago, but it wasn't the right time for us, so I called things off. Throughout the years we have confessed our love to one another and despite other relationships with others can't seem to shake our connection. It is an intimate romantic bond, not sexual lust.
In loving her, I accept her for who she is... She hasn't been able to be faithful in a monogomous relationship. But until recently that hasn't been an issue for me, because we have always lived in different states. The last decade and the half have been filled with some stuff I can't even begin to go into. More drama than I care to mention. Two months ago I planned to go visit her and thanks to Delta, didn't make it. Needles to say, she thought there was more to the story. A week prior to my planned trip I loaned her some money and haven't heard much from her since. Now where does that leave us...me? Have I been taken for a fool? Have the last 14 years been for not?
This issue has really been a sore spot for me. I need some help.

Your post leaves a lot of questions in my mind. But aside from that I guess my question would be how many times have you possibly passed over women that would have made wonderful, compatible partners because of this perceived "connection" with this woman? And I ask this because I have the most wonderful happy relationship with my partner, but there is an ex-gf that can not let go of what she considers our "connection", she even recently, temporarily moved out of the country because we had spoken(we only spoke because when we were together we both had young children and we are both still attached to all of them and my son had been in a near death accident. I actually was only speaking to her daughter that still calls me mom, and she asked to speak to me). To me when it was over it was over. She on the other hand has tried men(even though when we got together she was very assured in her sexuality, she married a gay/bi man after we broke up),other womyn, fanatical religious beliefs and now distance. So I guess what I am saying is sometimes that "deep connection" is only percieved by one person. Please don't waste your life waiting. Look around you, I am sure there is someone that loves you for who you are and you are just not seeing that person, because your sight is clouded by who you believe yourself to be connected with. I have come to learn that a true partner loves you for who you are and you each weed out the people that are not in the best interest of your happiness together. JMHO. Wishing you the best, Kat
