I tried Medco, they Sent Back the script! I think someone has 4.5 tabs available that they may be able to get now, but otherwise I don't know. I just go through Skip's and charge it myself.

I get 50mg tabs which I crush up and mix with 50 ml of tap water. This gives me a 1mg to 1ml solution. I draw up 3 ml in a syringe that has no needle and squirt it in my mouth. I find this really easy to do and since I am doing my own compounding very inexpensive. I get it at Costco and a 90 day supply is less than $10. I keep the solution refrigerated, of course.

If you decide to make the solution yourself, you can check online to find the solubility of the "additive/filler". If its NOT soluble in water, use a large strainer and cut a coffee filter to fit inside stainer (I use 2 filters). I cut coffee filters smaller and wet them a bit first so they don't absorb too much of my LDN liquid. Make your solution as normal then shake really well for several minutes, let it sit for about 10 minutes then shake well again. Slowly pour it over the coffee filter (have a container or collector under strainer). You will notice that the solution in the collector container is now almost crystal clear and you will also see the solids (filler) sitting in the coffee filter. Pour clear solution back into your LDN container bottle that you use to store it. I no longer have the stomach troubles associated with the fillers by doing this. I have a chemistry background and knew that when I saw my filler was not soluable in water, I could find a few things around the kitchen to filter it out. Be sure to let what is in filter to finish dripping.... I let it drip for a few minutes before I pour clear liquid into the bottle I have for LDN. You can also put the water you start off with in microwave for about 5 seconds before you add LDN; dissolves better well when shaking. Hope this "tutorial" makes sense... if you find the filler is NOT soluble in water, its easy to remove most of it with this process. LDN IS soluble in water. The finer the filter, the more filler you can remove. I find 2 coffee filters stuck together do a very good job. I like using a use a measuring cup (or beaker) as collector because they have a pouring spout type thing for you to easily pour liquid back into your original container, then store in fridge. Good feeling to throw coffee filter with filler inside in garbage can.

I also use 50mg tablets and mix it with distilled water. Always looks cloudy. Just mixed some yesterday, so I did the trick with the filter. Wow, amazing to see all that filler. And you are right shemc it does feel good to throw that crap into the carbage.

So you can make your own LDN? Of course, my doctor won't prescribe it so just wondering. Can you take this with Tysabri? I need to read up on this med.

Uncleben, do you need a prescription to buy the naltrexone at Costco? I can't seem to find a doctor locally who is willing to prescribe for LDN without a lot of costly appointments and tests. I've been on LDN for ten years but have used my dad (in another state) to write and fill prescriptions. That won't last forever and I want to be less dependent on my parents for the LDN... so I'm trying to figure out a way to get it myself. Thanks. :)

You need a prescription in the US, but there are other options MSmile. Some people get the LDN from Canada or Mexico, I get mine:
All Day Chemist.com, it's the cheapest, no RX, takes 2 weeks to receive, the same 50mg Revia Tablet that River Pharamcy drop ships from India.
Last time I ordered it took 8 days to receive. The time before it took longer because it was stuck in customs in New York for 2 weeks. They give you a tracking number so you can track the shipment...neat.

littlemac, don't you worry about the quality of the product coming from India? I would be fearful of ordering from overseas. Can you tell me more?

Hi again nomorera, I'm not worried about getting meds from India. You could get if from a Canadian Pharmacy, but from what I have read they get their LDN from India too. I just ordered some meds from England and I believe it was manufactured in Bulgaria. I have lived overseas & I'm not worried.
I know a person that has allergies to corn products & most fillers in the US have ingredients derived from corn products. She will not take any medication manufactured in the US.
You will have to do whatever works for you :)

I use Skip's Pharmacy in Florida. He is a regular compounder of LDN and uses the correct filler. Skip doesn't take insurance for LDN. It cost me about $25 per month, including shipping. I usually get a couple months supply at a time. You still have to have a perscription.
