Hi there! I'm new here to this site/group and just noticed your post. I am sorry your son was diagnosed with this monster, i hope things are going well? My son was diagnosed with Stage III Hepato at 10 months, we did 6 months of chemo, the tumor wouldn't shrink around the hepatic arteries, we were going to try to attempt a resection and the surgeon came out after starting saying he just couldn't do it (wow). He was placed at the top of the transplant list 1 weeks later and was successfully transplanted 30 days later at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Thank you for your response. I am so happy to hear your little one is better! We are currently back in the hospital due to 102 fever. He had right lobe of his liver removed 2nd of september in Wilmington, Delaware at the depont Nemours children's hospital.
After six weeks recovery he started 5th round of chemo. If all goes well he will only have one more round left. He sould be finished with it all by first of December. So we are praying this nightmare will soon we over.
One question I would like to ask you, did your son's temperment change? And if so, did it return to normal after all was over? My son gets so angre now. In the beginning he would bite his hands or me, pull his hair, and hit. Before this all began, he was the sweetest easy going little boy...like a little angel. I just hope my little sweet boy comes back.
Does he still go back for CT scans or blood work?
