Jealousy Support Group
Jealousy typically refers to the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that occur when a person believes a valued relationship is being threatened by a rival. This rival may or may not know that he or she is perceived as a threat. If you or a loved one may have an issue with jealousy, this community is a good place to start exploring the issue and get support. We're here for...
If you are like me, I couldn't STAND him talking to other women or girls. I would cringe and seethe when we watched movies and attractive women came on the screen. It doesn't help that he could be very flirtatious when he wanted to, but I often mistook friendly banter as his desire to want much, much more from the other person. There were endless fights and hurtful arguments because of this.
I've since cooled down a lot on my reactions. And now I am working on mental peace. I have come to realize that, in my situation, my jealousy was a way of expressing my extreme self loathing. In the end it had nothing to do with my husband or other women, but that I had never been happy with myself.
Now I know that the only way to positivity in my life is to accept and love myself and all the good that is in my life. It all starts within. If you are able I strongly suggest that you look up Louise Hay, whether on YouTube or checking a book out at the library. When I discovered her it was like a light bulb turned on. Hearing her words really touched me. Over the years I had heard over and over again, "it's all in your head" or "get over it" and wanted to desperately, but never invested myself in working at it. You really have to be willing to do the work, because it is just that, work. And after a lifetime of training our brains to think negatively, well, it will be a full commitment to learn the positive.
But I firmly belief that Louise can help. She teaches affirmations and the idea that every negative thought we have is giving the universe direction for our lives. I know this may sound ridiculous and far-fetched, but if the negative had so much power over us, how can the positive not be used in an equally strong way?
Basically you have to counter each negative thought with a positive, and just think positively in general. Tell yourself you love yourself and eventually it will become true.....then what does it matter what anyone else does to you?
Please if you can, take this advice. I wish you happiness!
