I know all you girls are not using donors b/c of early menopause but I am.
So I was wondering since my cycle was totally mocked (I have no hormones on my own) will I beable to breastfeed??

Im not sure about this, but my RE said there are hormones they an give you in order to start lactation if you want to breatfeed. Just something I was thinking about doing...

I had not even thought of that... I am sure this will be a widely read topic with lots of discussion.

[I am using a donor due to (probably age related) chromosomal abnormalities with my own eggs], so I still get a regular cycle, just with crappy genes.

I think you can still breastfeed. I know that it is the process of birth & the hormones related to it that will trigger it to begin with. They might have to sustain those hormones after birth to help keep your supply up, but I am not sure. What a great question though. Keep us posted if you ask your MD!!!

I was unexplained infertility and maxed out on all fertility meds before doing donor eggs and I am able to breastfeed my baby. My supply is low so I do both formula and breastmilk.

i'm not at the breatsfeeding stage yet but was happy to read dhudson's entry. i'm doing donor due to age (i'm perimenopausal) and my boobs from very early on got much bigger in preparation for breastfeeding. so wait and see but it's good to hear from the others that they can induce it with meds if need be.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
