IVF with Donor Eggs or Donor Embryos Community Group
Support and advice for those who need to use Donor Eggs, Donor Embryos, or Donor Eggs/Embryos with a Gestational Carrier for infertility treatment. Welcome all at every stage of this journey to Motherhood.
I am 31 wks with twins and was hospitalized last week for preterm labor. The meds they gave me to stop contractions were horrific but at least the babies got the steroid shot to develop lungs. I'm on couch rest and just hoping to make it to 34 wks without any other complications. My doctor and all nurses tell me that 34 week delivery is just fine for the babies and I'm sure that applies to your little blessings as well. Best Wishes!
NICU life is very tiring so rest as much as you can. Here's a non-profit, handtohold.org, that DH and I volunteer with that provides lots of resources as parents adopt to the NICU lifestyle. Here are some tips that helped us:
-My first tip is to learn how to read your babies' charts.
-Talk, read and sing to them as much as you can.
-Bring home their blankets so you can bond with them by smelling their scent (love that baby smell -- so heavenly!)
-Do NOT be shy to ask for help or accept help at home or at the hospital. Your first priority are the babies. Let your support circle work for you and your DH.
-Ask your hospital if photographers volunteer their services to photograph preemies
Please keep us posted on how it's going. Congratulations, Mommy!
