Hello everyone. It seems that most women do not use this board but I wanted to post a little something. I know when I started out dealing with infertility I searched everywhere for information on older women getting pregnant. I am presently 41 and pregnant with my biological twin daughters after a FET in July. I went through 3 failed IUI's and 3 "fresh" IVF cycles resulting in chemical and ectopic pregnancies. It can be done. My friend just found out she is pregnant naturally with a man she is seeing and she is 40 going to be 41 in May. She has a 3 yr old daughter already. She was really never "infertile" but is pregnant at 40.
Don"t give up. I am praying these girls continue to grow and are born healthy. Best of luck!
Hi Everyone!
I'm glad to ad my comments here. I struggled for about 2 1/2 yr to try and conceive and started at 41 1/2 yr old. I had 1 IUI and got preg but m/c, then pregnant naturally 6m later but m/c again. 1 IVF, m/c again and then bam another natural preg and m/c again! I did one donor egg cycle and didn't stick with excellant looking eggs and my husbands sperm (which had no problem and he has 1 bio child)...I was so devestated and seriously investigated using a surrogate if my next donor cycle didn't work. I went with a two time proven donor with twins each of those cycles and it worked!! thank goodness and I delivered b/g twins this past Jan! We went through some crazy things and went through and immunologist in CA (remotely) and had Iv ig infusions also and traveled to Mexico twice for some other treatments.. This was last ditch effort to try and have a baby myself before surrogacy. I look back now and seems so long ago but was only a year ago I was pregnant! I delivered them when I was 44 and just turned 45. I don't feel too old for these babies but by society's standards I'm old enough to be their Grandma. It's such a blessing ladies keep trying and don't give up. There are other countries you can do surrogacy also for far less than the US or private surrogate. Check the boards and read, read and read some more. Also people "donate" unused embryos if you can't afford a donor. I was lucky and had health insurance that covered my donor egg cycles but we literally traveled to CA twice, Mexico, and St. Louis through all this...Maintain your focus and plan and don't give up your dream....Blessing and good luck and I'm happy to be a resource for anyone with questions.
I also wanted to ad my cousin who is one year older than me got preg naturally with her last two kids, one at age 41 and the other at age43 1/2..She delivered both and are perfectly healthy! It was really tough to watch her get pregnant so easily (she actually got preggers with the 2nd by "accident" on the mini pill! ..I hate her!!) while I was going through so much to try and have a baby but wanted to add for those ladies still tryng!
