Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
Hi guys, I am very happy. I found out the cause of my ibs-c. I've been suffering since childhood. When I was little I even ended up in the hospital. Of course, no one knew about ALLERGIES and BLOOD TESTING for FOOD ALLERGIES back then.
In fact, fast forward a few decades, my GP to whom I went for help didn't know about this (or perhaps didn't "believe" in it, as many are apt to say. It's something like not believing in gravity IMHO).
Anyway, I went to a integrated medicine-holistic doc and she suggested a food allergy test (your garden variety IGg4, which you must have heard of in the past, or at least noticed the name in an article). So we did it -- a little blood and a little wait.
I went back last Wednesday and was told I am severely allergic to dairy and moderately allergic to eggs. She suggested stopping both for 6 weeks and "see how you feel". Well, I'd had dairy in the morning last Wednesday, but I didn't have any more; ditto on eggs. So that's 5 days.
I have been pooping like a champ since yesterday. This is something very NEW to me. The dietary cold turkey was my only diff.
Yes, of course it's early in the experiment. But why not look at it positively -- NOTHING else has ever done this for me.

My problem started in grammar school/summer camp where we were very milk-fed: milk at breakfast, lunch, dinner + ice cream. And there was all the dairy propaganda how milk does a body good.
I'm lucky I figured this out now.

Do you know anything about the mediator release test (MRT)? I just put in a new post about it. Please check it out and let me know what you think. I believe they are on the same lines as allergy testing, but different.
