Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I have been using psyllium for the past three months and have noticed a TREMENDOUS difference in my digestion and IBS symptoms. I\'ve struggled with IBS with constipation for seven years!!! I thought I was dying of some horrible disease, but my doctor just gave a push and a listen to my stomach and said, \"More fiber.\"
After a week of gradually incorporating Metamucil\'s Psyllium fiber pills, my abdominal sensitivity went away and so did my constipation. I am regular now and full of more energy. I also drink a lot of water every day and stay away from too much fat and sugar. Oh, and I exercise every day or every other day, just to keep healthy and the get the endorphins kicking. Another thing I recommend is having faith. I am a practicing Christian, and since I have been doing my part to get well, (decreasing my worries, being more positive, taking fiber, eating well) I have been noticing improvement. If we do our part, God comes in and does His part.
