Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
Did your dr do any tests?
Have you lost your appetite or are you not eating because your afraid it will make it worse? I m sorry I don't have to many answers but I think your dr should be able to help with your weight loss. Maybe vitamins.
I hope you start to feel better soon. They say that ibs can come and go so hopefully it will get better soon. Also I was told it's all about eliminating different foods to see what helps. I hope yours settles soon.
Have you ever tried a water enema?
If I am constipated, I find that a water enema sometimes helps--depending on how far along much of the fecal material is. If there is a significant amount in the lower part of the colon, it might help. I am talking about using plain water.
When I do a water enema, I do not use as much water as is often recommended. I probably only use about 1 cup of water--definitely no more than 1.5 cups.
When I am having a bout of constipation, I will often take a dose of Miralax daily until I get relief. It is okay to combine Miralax with certain other laxatives, if necessary. Like Miralax in conjunction with a senna based laxative.
I empathize with your constipation and nausea issues. I have been there. Personally, I would rather have D than C.
Good luck,
