Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
If you have pain and bloating you can put a heating pad on your stomach, it makes it feel good. I learned this when I was in the hospital.
I guess it's time for you to try and figure out your food triggers. Notice what you eat that makes your stomach bloat.
And, start eating smaller meals and more of them, instead of say 2 big meals a day.
Good luck.
For almost 7 months I had severe diarrhea all day, and the past 2 weeks I can't really go at all. The Bentyl has eliminated the spasms, but now I feel even more bloated then ever. I bought my boost drinks, vitamins, and fiber plus calcium and vit d chewables...I hadn't eaten much dairy lately but I did notice when I ate a hunk of colby cheese yesterday I had horrible gas/bloating a few hours later. I think dairy is a no no. It's just tough I'm dealing with this and I have so many other medical issues.
constipated and sonetimes that is the only thing that works, Also I
gain ten pounds in three days then when I go I lose the ten pounds.
I exercise like crazy but that only helps a little, Going to see a doctor
end of March. I feel for you...
