Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I've been living with IBS for almost 30 years and I have had attacks last for hours, and even re-attack after sleeping for several hours, and I have gotten really bad chills with my attacks. Well I'm not sure if it's the chills, or what. During an attack I MUST stay warm. If I get the least bit chilly I will start shaking uncontrollably and the attack will get nearly impossible to deal with by myself. I haven't gotten the shakes in several years because I make sure I stay warm. I always have a sweater, or coat with me out of the house, and a blanket with me while in the house during an attack.
What you are experiencing "could" be an attack, but it sounds alot like the stomach flu. There are at least a few of us on in the group that have the stomach flu now. I've had it since Christmas night.
I hope you feel better soon. I'm here if you need me. Feel free to message me anytime, even if it's just to vent.
Be Gentle With Yourself,
Kristie
