Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
Not sure if this will help, but Mayo has some pretty good guidelines....
Be careful...food poisoning usually will 'pass' (sorry for the pun) on its own. Keep well hydrated !! But carefully if you just vomited...ice chips. After diarrhea gatorade is good.
If you see any blood in 'anything'--go to the doctors. If you are still having symptoms after 2-3 days...go to the doctors also. My daughter got food poisoning from cocoanut shrimp (restaurant) once and was sick enough to be put on antibiotics. Maybe a call to your doc's and talk to the PA just in case?
Meantime maybe the BRAT diet best (banana, rice apple sauce dry toast or maybe clear broth) fluids ( probably not fruit juice--may aggravate diarrhea).
Get some rest, and hope you have someone to check in on you.
Best wishes,
