Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
My GI is on maternity leave. The covering is an idiot. I told him I was impacted and he told me to take fiber and call him in a few weeks. It took me a 20 minutes on the phone with him to get the appointment Thursday. I don't really think I have a choice but to wait until Thursday. I can't go to the ER without doctor approval first, or my insurance will not pay.
You should go to the emergency room where they can give you an enema to completely clean you out
So along with another person....get to ER if it has been more than few days.
Now...to be blunt here..if it is just where you can actually feel you have some ready to come out but it is just like you cannot push it out...than gentle enema can help or as gross as this may sound, you might have to just get in with your hand and remove really hard feces that block more normal ones. If you do this...really scrub your hands of course with brush etc.
But seriously, if you recently had surgery or you take laxatives on regular basis, often your intestines can stop working right and you get impacted and must be physically removed part, part enemas but with doctors care!
I have friend who does not have any normal intestinal issues but did have surgery and had not gone for few days at hospital, lucky he was there since he was so impacted it was ready to break though intestinal walls is how he said it. He had to have surgery to remove it and stayed in another week recovering from it. You might look on Dr oz's site about this as he talks about importance of feces and how often etc. But if you have any pain and not going...emergency room please!
I have not seen anything new from you...just worried you are very sick. I hope not!
