Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
Has anyone tried Metamucil Wafers?

I have extremely slow digestion and I have always had slow digestion, unfortunately. I took mineral oil as a child. I also had a barium enema to rule everything out. I also drank Citrucel for years and it didn't do much good. I also don't like it at all. I have fiber gummies, which I loved at first, but now I'm sick of them, unfortunately. I also like fiber one brownies. I've also tried the bars and ceral and also got sick of some of the ceral also, unfortunately. I'm thinking about trying Metamucil wafers and I was wondering if anyone has tried the wafers. If you have tried the wafers what do they taste like? They sound like they are good. They come in the cinnamon and apple flavor, I believe. Both flavors sound good to me. If you have or are eating them do they help you? I'm embarrassed to buy them. My mom said she will go and get them for me. I'm worried right now. My digestion is slow and I don't have to go that often. It is often a week or a little over a week period between me going. It has hurt . I took laxatives last week 5 days ago already because I was worried it would hurt again when I finally had to go. I went a whole bunch when I took them and haven't had to go at all since then. I don't have insurance and that makes things even more difficult. I'm sure any meds I could take for that would be extremely expensive and they don't necessarily even work, unfortunately. I would also be too embarrassed to tell a doctor about that. My mom has Crohns disease and she also has C diff right now so she's been going a whole lot. I think she's lucky to be going so frequently. I think anyone who has chronic diarrahea is lucky. I've also been feeling wide awake for the past 2 years and I know that is beyond the scope of this group. I also think anyone who has chronic fatigue is lucky. I take a high dosage of Seroquel, which I've heard can cause bowel troubles and an old Anti depressant, which I've also heard can cause bowel troubles.

Take a natural approach. I agree the Seroquel is probably the culprit get off that. The wafers are like nilla wafers only crispier its easy to eat a bunch the cinnamon were a bit strong for me. If you can eat a apple or two or avacado it will help you go . Over the counter you can buy flax seed oil cold compress pills keep them in the freezer or they cause gas but they help you go 1000mg take up to 3 2 times a day if needed or omega 3 fish oil. Get to like vegies some really help you go. Water is your friend too. I'll let you know if I think of anything else. You can control this with right plan for you. Try Hope you feel better soon.

I am not going to be able to get off Seroquel because otherwise I'll be wide awake, unfortunately. I didn't even "sleep" that well on my meds yesterday. I kept on "waking up" all day and night. I am definitely going to get some Metamucil wafers and I hope I like them. I'm getting worried. I have not had to go to the bathroom at all since last week when I took the laxatives. I don't know what to do. Who knows when I'll actually have to go to the bathroom again and I'm worried it will be really hard it will have been so long since I've gone.

I got the cinnamon Metamucil wafers and I like them. I just hope they "work" and I don't get sick of them like I got sick of fiber gummies and some of the Fiber One Ceral, unfortunately. I can also try the apple Wafers and I hope I like them also. I finally had to "go" today after a whole week and much of it hurt and was impacted, unfortunately. I also feel wide awake, as always, although I know that is beyond the scope of this group.
