Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I am so sorry to hear that you're struggling. IBS can be so brutal sometimes. Mine got so bad that I was emergency pooping in ditches when I went for a run (SO GROSS!).
I tried everything - vegetarianism, low carb, gluten-free, FODMAP, you name it, I've given it a shot.
A friend of mine was on the Keto diet (or ketogenic diet) and told me that it helped his ibs. I was like ... sure sure, I don't think you understand what I am dealing with here.
But I was desperate and figured that it couldn't hurt.
Not gonna lie - the diet is difficult and pretty terrible at the start. But, it cleared up my ibs. Completely. I was on it for three full months and not a single ibs attack. Even in circumstances that would normally trigger one (my period, stress, shitty food etc).
And it is better than eating nothing at all ;)
If you want to know more about it, send me a message :) Or if you just want to vent about how terrible it is to have out of control IBS!
Hope the doctor was able to help you yesterday!
