Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
i haven't tried it but i've read a lot of posting re: slippery elm bark. you might try those related postings. i know or have researched over the years, a lot about dietary restrictions (sometimes very contradictory!) but just recently reading here about how bad coffee is for bloating. ug, i hate to give up my 2 little cups of coffee too!
just wanted to say welcome. it is really nice to be able to talk about stuff here that it's hard to talk about with others.
I suffer IBS, related to my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, accompanied by anxiety and/or panic every time I feel a cramp. It's not fun, and I've shed many tears, but by joining this group I hope to give and receive lots of advice and encouragement.
Start keeping a food & symptom journal. You might id your triggers as well. Everyone's are different.
I hope that you will find it helpful coming here to share with everyone what is going on with you. Sometimes it's just helpful knowing that there are other people who understand what you're going through.
