Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Support Group
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.
I am so sorry about all that you are going through. I have many symptoms having to do with my bladder. My rheumy says it lupus that has gone into my bladder. I already have a urologist but I have not been to him in a while he annoys me. I have burning, pain, spasms, frequent need to urinate, etc. It can get so bad that I sit on the toilet for hours and drink a ton of water b/c it burns so much and it feels so intensely to have to urinate. My heart goes out to you and it is nice to know that your doc has empathy it is hard to find those. Keep us updated on what is going on. Best wishes and gentle hugs. I have peed 3 times just writing this post!! ANNOYING!!
