Hon, as far as your insurance goes. Only you would know. You'd have to call your insurance company or the medical billing office(if they're willing to help get it approved) and you have to ask who can do it, if they cover it at all, if they do where and with who, you might have to appeal the decision and they can tell you what to do as well as the billers at the office. That is the only way other than forking out the cash for it. And I am sorry I know that is annoying but I heard the PT works wonders and it sounds like it could really help. So I'd either pay it or fight it with the insurance company. Good luck, I did medical billing for a long time, it is no easy task. Take care.

My Pelvic Pain Specialist sent me to a physical therapist for PFD and it is the only treatment that alleviated the pain. I took Elmiron for over 2 years and I am convinced that it helped my bladder. Since it did nothing for PFD though, I needed a PT. Now that is where the pain starts and then my bladder flares with frequency/urgency and sometimes burning pain. It was good advice to check with your insurance and appeal if necessary. Maybe your doctor could assist with more detailed info on your behalf? I had only 7 sessions the first time with my PT. Now I can pop my SI joint in place and keep my pain at a minimum as well as using instills. The type of PT you need is one that specializes in women's health issues. I feel that I am 85% better than I was 3-4 years ago. Best of luck to you. IC certainly isn't for wimps!

I too have terrible insurance coverage. The mental anguish from spending the money is as bad as the physical pain and probably makes it worse.

Look up diaphramatc breathing. This is very important to perform regularly. Count to 3 in, exhale to 6 out. I have my phone on vibrate every hour to remind me to breath diaphramaticly. Plus stickers to remind me.

Buy the book Ending Female Pain by Is a Herrera. It is excellent. It will tell you most of what you need to know.
Sandy
