Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Support Group

Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.

Hi everyone,

Other than walking and stretching, is there any exercise that you can do that does not cause you pain?

I think one of the best exercises for
anyone if you can tolerate the chlorine is
swimming.One of the best things we can do
is relax and I find swimming very relaxing.
When I come out of the pool I feel great.
Maybe not for everyone,but it really works
for me.Great place to do gentle stretching
and low impact aerobics

I can't seem to find any kind of exercise that I can really tolerate, except for low impact type of exercises, like the eliptical machine at a slower speed. My job is very physical though and believe it or not, I actually have no pain while I'm working and I'm able to drink soda too. I unload trucks and stock shelves. The weird thing is I can't run, which I used to love, because I have pain when I do that but at work, moving around lot causes no pain at all. I like swimming but the chlorine irritates my bladder.
