I'm a black female and he is Irish. He is from Ireland (duh lol) and I'm American. We have been together for 5yrs and going strong - driving each other insane hahaha. But it wasn't until recently that we were together at Red Robin eating burgers and he noticed stares. He didn't tell me until after we left but it was no bother to me. There was another instance where we were at a pub restaurant and we were leaving and this black family were leaving their car. Again - he noticed the wife eyeballing us - when I turned to look she looked away. I noticed it next time when we were driving - another black female was literally in the car with us lol I just couldn't. We saw older people acknowledge us and shake their head and say that it was wrong. My mom used to ask me why I didn't date "my own", which I replied that it wasn't like I was seeking any one out. I love every race of male, no exclusions. She even went as far as to tell me that we wouldn't be able to use the same brush bc of our hair (insert eye rolling). Or that she really wanted to have an all-black grandchild. To give a little history on her side of the family, my grandmother was half Caucasian and half Black. So you can understand why I completely ignored these comments. We literally keep on with being in love with each other - it doesn't phase us too much. What we continue to think on is what our kids will go through but we will get there in time....But that's about it - hope this helps.
