I don't think there is anything wrong with you. You are willing to think outside the box to find what you want in a relationship. I noticed particularly where you say that you dated black men to please your family and friends, and not to get judged by strangers. I don't think it hurts to look at other kinds of men to date. I wonder how many unhappily married couples are out there who hooked up with someone just to keep the status quo and and are now desperately unhappy? I've only ever dated one or two black men, (I'm black) and am now married to a white man. The thing that I have noticed about black men is that my intelligence and class seem to rub them the wrong way, or when I did meet a black man who was intelligent and classy, he preferred white women. To each his own, I say! More power to you for going you own way and not following society rules that have not made you happy!

I do not prefer any race of women. I am open to all women, regardless of race. There are good and bad in all races. The most important thing that I look for is a good, decent human being. What good is a stunning, young woman who would put poison in your coffee in order to get you life insurance policy?

Start with a good person who would never abuse you. Then consider looks, age, money, sense of humor, and whatever else interests you. If you put race at the top of your list, you are narrowing your chances at finding someone special that you could spend the rest of your life with.
