This year has been so full of so many high's and lows. There's been no consistency whatsoever. I've felt really good sometimes(not nearly enough) but way more often than not I'm at rock bottom. I definitely feel like I may be battling a deep depression. To be honest I think I just don't think I really fit in with how society is today. To me it feels like I'm an antisocial person in an overpopulated world. The reason I feel this way is because I remember the only time I went camping this year(which wasn't even as good as my normal trips because it was for a class) I was much happier and slept better in worse conditions.
Even though I should be happy about it, I just don't wake up every morning thinking...YAY! I have to go to school or work. I can't control my perception/ attitudes about life in the city when I get to a certain level of exhaustion but I know your perception of life has a lot to do with your energy. I slept like absolute shit the first day of that camping trip but when I woke up I was still in a good mood. Maybe I looked forward to going hiking more that day, seeing cool stuff or who knows what. But with city/society life when I sleep bad its like a double whammy because I wasn't excited to go to things like work or school when I'm not tired and now I'm tired. My thought process would is something like I don't want to do this....and I'm tired and feel like shit, today's going to be a bad day.
Its been an usually bad semester. I've felt burned out all semester even after my jobs ended and stuff. Just no energy or motivation. Then to combine it with that, I've never felt so uncertain in my life. This one class is mine is hard and I feel so unconfident and powerless. For example I actually got a good grade on this one assignment but for probably the first time I don't even feel confident about it. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it again or trying to teach anyone else it. Now I have another similar assignment and it's going to take days to get done. I feel like I'm going insane. It's not like my usual classes where I can be like K i'm going to study biology for 2 hours and I'll have this done. This type of class/assignment doesn't guarantee you complete it if you put in the time and effort. The uncertainty is just absolutely killing me. I would fail the class is I didn't have this one friend of mine. We aren't supposed to but we work on everything together. The whole class is confused minus a couple people but we're supposed to "work on our own". To make it worse, this one other class I have to take is way harder and more work than I anticipated or had time for.
Then my family has had so many health issues. I happened to have the worst midterms of my school career and had to deal with that while knowing my grandmother was going to pass away any night for 3weeks. She ended up living way longer than she was estimated to and it was just looming on my mind while I had all of this stuff to do for mid terms! She ended up passing away during my Fall break. I got the call when I was doing something I didn't like(working) so I bet you can guess how my day went. Then on a separate day the funeral and events were all day. Earlier in the semester I had to be my dads caretaker for weeks while he recovered my hip surgery. The other day I had to be his caretaker and driver because one of his teeth fell out. I found out the other day that my mom might have cancer. A couple weeks prior to that she said he blood pressure was apparently so high they wouldn't let her leave until it lowered. It was so high that she was put on a blood pressure prescription and told she was at risk for having a stroke. I think that's under control now but she had a mammogram the other day and it showed a small mass very deep inside. So we'll see what comes of that. In a couple weeks I'm going to have to be caretaker for my dad again because he's having a knee surgery. Combine all that with the fact that I had several things due the day we got back on spring break, it wasn't a break at all. What pissed me off more was I busted my ass and sacrificed my break quality to get them done and then when we go back only me and my friend come to class having completed what we were supposed to so he extended the due date for their lucky asses. I'm always punished and suffer the consequences if I don't do shit when its due.
Anywhere, even though this is a long essay I could honestly talk about so much more but I've got to go. I've grown a lot mentally cause I'm still here despite everything that has happened but I'm definitely not optimistic about my future whatsoever until my sleep issues are resolved. Its stopped me from doing so much.

Hi, Slayer. Sorry to hear your going through so much stuff. I know college can be so stressful, and don't even get me started about work. It all affects our sleep, and then our poor sleep affects our attitudes and emotions. I'm an emotional wreck when I'm exhausted, so that's a lot, ha ha. Sorry about your grandmother, I know that must have been very sad. And my mother is a breast cancer survivor, so I know the stress that goes around having that going on. You have to be the strong one, even if you don't feel strong, because you have to take care of your family. I hope that you will take time to take care of yourself, too, and keep working on resolving your sleep issues. Don't give into it. I am glad you are still here, it it good to hear from you. Never give up.

Sleep works a critical part in imagining and learning. Loss of sleep troubles these cognitive processes in many ways. Sleep disorders can lead to many diseases like heart attack, heart disease, heart failure, diabetes and many more.
