It sounds like your PTSD may be untreated at the moment which may be affecting your sleep. Sometimes it's important to get things like anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc well managed in order to resolve sleep issues. If your opposed to therapy maybe speak to your PCP?
Another good option may be to look into CBT Sleep Training for adults. CBT sleep training is something you can research yourself online and doesn't require medication or therapy, though you can work on it with a professional if you so choose. It's a great way to learn healthy sleep habits and develop strategies that promote sound sleep.
