I am not endorsing this product, but it sounds interesting to me. The soon to be released product is called "Sleep Shepherd Blue" and information is available at the link below.
This product is being funded by "crowd funding", that has had some issues in the news lately (not necessarily this site as far as I know). Note that their original goal was to raise just $25,000, but have already beaten that goal by 10x.
Anyway, you may want to consider it before it is released at full MSRP pricing.

This market is very large actually, and growing quickly. Consumer Reports recently tested and reviewed various forms of sleep trackers and monitors if you some objective info.
Very different products and capabilities. If you are looking for sleep monitoring only, then Eight Sleep may be OK, but IMO, and experience with Zeo, actually measuring brainwaves is the gold standard for sleep monitoring.
Their "goal to raise just $25,000.00....." WTH?? What exactly is "crowd funding?"

I assume that your comments are directed at the soon to be released Sleep Shepherd Blue product that I first posted about. Let me try to answer some our your questions.
1. This product has not been released yet, so no one has tried it except for people that are part of the development team of the product. The inventor has said that he invented this product specifically for his daughter that has severe sleep issues, and that she has been using early models very successfully.
2. The product will start shipping next month to the early backers of the "crowd funding". My wife and me joined the project a little late, but I expect to receive ours in May. The first 2,000 units have already been built. I will report back after we have received and tested our two units. We did receive substantial price reductions for joining the project, although the discounts would have been much better if we had joined the project earlier (did not know about the project, and it had already far surpassed its funding goal by the time we did, therefore less of a benefit,)
3. The goal of the funding was $25,000. As of today, they have received over $675,000. Obviously there is a lot of interest in this project.
4. Crowd Funding: This is a method for receiving funds by a developer of a new, and typically unusual, product. A funder (person like me), "pledges" certain amounts of money for a project that they are interested in receiving. The earlier a person pledges, the greater the award. An "award" is not money, but special reduced pricing vs. what will be the eventual MSRP. Crowd funding is obviously not without risk. Early contributors receive the greatest perk, but if the project fails to meet it funding goals, or not actually developed, the person may lose all their money.
5. This will be my third crowd funding pledge. The first two are already on the open market and are available on Amazon for example. Since we joined the crowd funding early, we received substantial discounts on both products.
6. An example of a new crowd funded product that is available at your drug store today is the "Kinsa", which is an electronic smart thermometer that connects to an Android or IOS smart phone. I did not know about it during its funding phase, but bought one at Target a few weeks ago. Very good, and accurate, thermometer. Not that expensive at around $25 for a product that is FDA-cleared for professional accuracy.
I hope that I have answer your questions.
Some have expressed concern to the inventor about having Bluetooth RF being constantly transmitted by the device. The inventor replied that Bluetooth is only used to turn on the device (go to sleep) and then the phone/Bluetooth can be turned off for the night. It is turned back on in the morning to dump the recorded data that was collected during the night measuring brainwaves.
Funny people being concerned about having Bluetooth on at night when many use it all day, everyday, with their phone.
As for it working, it already has been proved to work by volunteers and the inventor's daughter. We are looking for to receiving ours next month. I will report back after testing.
