Insomnia Support Group
Insomnia is a symptom, rather than a disease, and is characterized by inadequate quantity or quality of sleep. People with insomnia complain of difficulty falling or staying asleep, which results in significant impairment of daytime functioning. Insomnia is categorized as transient (shorter than one week), short-term (one to three weeks) or chronic (longer than three...
As for me, having had a adult lifetime of chronic insomnia & light
sleep pattern, easy wake-ups, I chose not to take any meds that were only meant for short term use.
As a health advocate, I followed the clinical trials of Lunesta, and read all the medical journal info.
When I tried it, started with 3mg
but quickly went to 2mg. I\'d been on that for 1 year, taking it every night as the med suggests.
My life changed. I could fall asleep into a DEEP sleep, and when
woke to go bathroom, still returned to sleep quickly. I have now gotten 8 hours of sleep, a lifetime first, except in the past on weekends when could sleep late, vs. getting up early for work.
Recently I switched to 1 mg from 2 mg because did notice some
tiredness during day. The 1mg still works as well, but has
eliminated the daytime fatigue.
LUNESTA A MIRACLE MED FOR CHRONIC
INSOMNIA,when insomnia not due to
extreme anxiety, depression or inability to turn off thoughts, or possibly unmedicated elevated blood pressure and rapid pulse.
To people who may have tried it
briefly, I suggest give it more of a chance. If you do find fatigue
during day, lower the dose.
