Personally, I like self-hypnosis. This method combines deep diaphragmatic breathing with progressive muscle relaxation. Once deeply relaxed, you deploy an autosuggestion for deep refreshing sleep. This has been my go-to method for over a decade now and works for me.
You can also try to control everything you can during the previous day to help turn down the noise and stress, which can affect you hours later while lying in bed. Particularly helpful is a relaxing pre-bed routine starting about an hour before bed time, to help you transition from wakefulness to a physical/mental state more conducive to sleep.
make your room quite, turn off the light. make your mind blank. Take deep breathe and through nose and exhale completely from mouth. repeat this process. it will surely rest your mind.
