Insomnia is a symptom, rather than a disease, and is characterized by inadequate quantity or quality of sleep. People with insomnia complain of difficulty falling or staying asleep, which results in significant impairment of daytime functioning. Insomnia is categorized as transient (shorter than one week), short-term (one to three weeks) or chronic (longer than three...
Can you tell me how long does it take you to get better?
Best regards!
It is true that stress about the idea of sleep fuels a lot of insomnia. Cut off or reduce the negative sleep thoughts, and sleep tends to improve. Sounds like you've done an excellent job.
I bought a cognitive behavior therapy for sleep online. It gave me a good information about insomnia but I did not really, strictly follow the sequence to do it because I figured it's case to case basis for each person.
I can say improvement is definitely there compare to when it all startedbut still needs work... I feel like I am going through the same thing as to what you described. A lot of times, i have difficulty falling asleep, when I lay in bed too long and can't fall asleep then I get up and read, and it may and may not work. Also keeping up with mediation i think will help eventually.
God helps those who help themselves :-)
I had the same questions, too before. The only explanation I learned from my experience is God allows trials so I would humble myself and put all my trust in him. I had no where to turn to. I knew that anxiety, fear, and lack of sleep is not coming from him. Insomnia is just the effect of anxiety, worries, pain, or other physiological changes that is happening in our body. I refused to give up and be contented to have no sleep because I focused on my anxieties. I have learned to trust his words and listen when he talks to me. I just knew that in every thoughts that were going thru my mind, I chose to veer toward his words of not worrying anymore. It's not easy when every now and then you get this horrible and negative thoughts. However, we are stronger than our minds. God gave us the free will to choose to worry or not to worry. I will include you in my prayer. God bless you.
Jesus said that He would never leave us or forsake us.
Jesus also said that while we live in this world,
we would have tribulation and loss.
So, my "trial" it seems, is trusting and believing that God is good,
no matter what, and that He only has my ultimate good in mind...regardless of what happens to me or what is going on around me.
