This insomnia in addition with my inability to cope with daily life is killing me too.
3 hours last night was a lot better than the 1.5 hours I got the night before. Hey whatdaya know! pulled an all nighter the night before that.
How am I doing? Cant change a "damn" thing by being mad or anxious.
Just waiting for exhaustion to bring me that sweet, sweet 5 to 6 hours
of uninterrupted sleep.
Then I will start the sick cycle all over again.
You see, I dont have the luxury of anger or sleep anxiety....my family and I would suffer even more.
It sucks. My heart goes out to you all. But I am convinced, at least in my case, accepting this until I can change it, is the only way I can deal with the emotional frustration of living like a zombie.
Misssy2...love your honesty. It is refreshing.
Now be a good friend of Bill W. and jump back on that wagon girl!
It's a myth, that you have to go all the way to the bottom before quitting again. Besides, what if you cant find the bottom this time?
You know the insomnia will only get worse!
Peace.
Like ok....last nights sleep stunk (well last night didn't cause I was passed out)...
But, when sober...if a nights sleep is bad..it is almost guaranteed that the next night is going to bring at least an additional hour of straight sleep.
I try not to get worked up before bed..but sometimes can't help it...I think its part of the "insomnia" issue with me.
Yes, trying to catch the wagon...
Have you tried sleep aides? I know a lot of people don't believe in them...I hate them...but if we find the right one for us..it could be a life saver...
Curious what your experience is and what you have tried?
I was surprised to see that many people try Melatonin a more natural aide..and really get tired on it....I have never tried It thinking it would not TOUCH me....but it might be worth a shot...for us.
