Yes, many success stories, including your own. You did say less than a year ago you resolved your insomnia, right? That means there's nothing "broken" and it's within your power to fix this.
Also important to try and get an accurate handle on how much you're actually sleeping. Overnight sleep studies in a lab show insomniacs generally underestimate how much sleep they're actually getting by an hour or more (!) per night. This is known as sleep state misperception.
When resting in bed with eyes closed at night it's obviously impossible to know exactly when we're sleeping and when we're awake. You should be confident that your inherent physiologic requirement for sleep will overpower whatever stress, anxiety, or tension you feel and you will get at least the minimum sleep needed to function.
And by carefully managing the sleep-wake process -- and by that I mean living a sleep-supportive lifestyle -- you can make this better. Without drugs, I might add. Many many people have done this successfully. You can too.
