When I saw that #IfYouCheatOnMe was trending, I thought it might be interesting to see the global responses. Yes, I expected silliness and triteness - it IS Twitter, after all, but... wow.
People really, really don't get it, do they?
I couldn't believe how many responses included "lol" in them. Forgive me if I don't laugh out loud at this particular subject.

But, now I gotta know! What are people saying? How they'd leave? Or kill peope? Was the phrase kicked to the curb used? Or am I just being old again?
Anyway.
I used to heavily use Twitter in relation to my volunteer stuff - great news/articles/sharing in that regard. I could ask questions about the organization or I could share ideas for fundraising or management - it was a vast community and it was concise (140 character limit!) so I couldn't go on and on and on (the way I do here...? *cough*)
I also find it a good way to share inside jokes and just "hang" with real friends who are vastly scattered across the globe. Lots of them don't have the inclination to send out emails (even mass emails) but they can throw down a sentence or two now and then to update where they are and what they're doing and the rest of us can join in on the conversation.
Anyhow... now that I'm done defending Twitter... :)
People (the general public, not my friends/associates) are just being stupid...

I know... I know. A lot of these people are like... 14. They have no concept. A lot are in their 20's trying to be funny. I know not EVERY subject has to be serious and thoughtful and insightful and I also know that sometimes laughing at the pain in the world is the only way we can survive it and not go batshit crazy.
