Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
Think of teenagers: "But Mom, everyone is doing it/has one" mentality.
County- First off sorry you are here but glad you have found the site. I am the BS (Betrayed Spouse) and wife the CS (Cheating Spouse). I find myself thinking similar to you as to why I would want to rebuild and stay married to someone who betrayed me. I can't find it in my heart to quit the marriage. I believe wife is a good person who made a bad choice and for the time being I am staying to fight for the marriage that I vowed to honor. Until I reach a point that I can be at peace with the fact that I did everything possible to rebuild and leave 100% at peace with myself. As for occupations she is a nurse in a outpatient hospital and works 12 hr days. I work in manufacturing on the dreaded 3rd shift. I had a similar thought to the occupational and shift aspect but from my situation I felt the two cancel each other out. As for working with more people but seeing or hearing about less issues that is what got me thinking and wondering if there is a sixth sense or something to that affect that draws people into sharing this information.
When I initially split from my H over 3 years ago, 2 of my friends in unhappy marriages split too. They saw me happily moving on and it gave them strength.
One has managed to work on her marriage the other is going through a nasty divorce.
Divorce can be contagious and seem appealing to a person on the fence. Why is your wife on the fence?

I can tell you that when my H was going through his dicky phase I sought out like minded people. If I wanted to bitch about what an ass he is I wasn't going to the "we are so happy my H is swell" type. I was going to the "yea all men suck" group.
I don't think that bodes well for you.
I am not sure if that is really that bad a thing. I wish my wife would socialize with women, to hear how shitty some of the marriages are out there, how shitty spouses can be. I know she would appreciate me and us more. Conversely, what your wife is doing could certainly be motivating her to not want to rebuild, for whatever reason.
The point is, don't believe everything you are hearing. I assume you are a BS?
I will say that some of the divorces make me feel like I should just go ahead and file right now, to not wait. I have to find a job first and get some things in order. I already regret not getting a divorce when I found out about my h.
I do think that the experiences of others can influence our own decisions.
It was this "friend" that encouraged my wife to send naked pix to the OM. It was this "friend" that made this behavior OK. It was this friend that supplied my wife with drugs when my wife didn't have access to any.
While I appreciate that I can't blame "the friend" for my wife's poor choices and actions, I truly believe that you become a compilation of the people you spend the most time with!
IF YOU LIE DOWN WITH DOGS, YOU WAKE UP WITH FLEAS!
My drug of choice during my affair was alcohol. I can hardly blame the bartender or the governing body that licenses the liquor store for making it available.
What really confuses me is her talking about future plans like vacations and fixing up the house when she is so uncertain about our marriage. That is what got me to thinking that if she is hearing others talk about their failing marriages and divorcing it can be adding to the confusion. As for being influenced and the level of maturity. I can see how even a mature person can be moved to try something new based off the "high" another describes. Like the choice to cheat. She is a CS so maybe that also is telling in reference to a maturity level.
Ouch....just ouch.
I hope you try counseling?
As far as the people she is surrounding herself with? They can have an impact.
