Merry Christmas, Everyone!
How did you do it? How do you let that anger go? One minute I think that I love my H and the next I rather rip his head off. It's been 4 months since I found out. As far as I know they have no real contact except they work at the same facility but now she's on 2nd shift. She's 7 years younger than us and I feel that I just cannot compete with that. I have resposibilities and children to raise. She can do whatever she wants whenever she wants. I want our marriage to work, and I was dealing better with the whole thing but lately I'm engulfed with anger and rage. Any pointers? I'd appreciate any advise you could share.
Here are some pointers from my own experience as this is what I can basically share w/ you. I had to become willing to admit my flaws & defects in the marriage first. I ignored him, belittled him and rejected him sexually for a long time. I was a bitch on wheels and nothing he ever did satisfied me. Counseling helped me some but anger would resurface and I'd try to put 100% blame on him. He was willing to do whatever it took to make our marriage work & to be honest if I were him I probably wouldn't want me back. The truth is if I had of been meeting his needs in the first place the OW would never have existed! I don't know where you are in your relationship w/ God or your higher power or if you have one but I got on my knees and prayed for strength & courage to overcome my biggest fears which brought my anger to the surface. I was afraid he'd leave me for her because I wasn't fulfilling his needs as a wife. I remembered the woman I used to be when we first met. I was loving, compassionate, affectionate and I listened to him. I always made sure that I looked attractive. What happened to me over the years? I stopped caring how I looked, I gained 50 lbs in 13 years & I stopped caring how he felt & what he needed. Another good release for me is journaling. I write down how I am feeling everyday. Nothing hurts more than being betrayed & lied to & cheated on. It's only natural to feel anger & rage because the person we made a commitment to has betrayed their vows of fidelity in the marriage. They have committed the ultimate sin. You have to find forgiveness in your heart before you can begin to heal. It takes as long as it takes. It's been 2 years for me & I am still healing. How long did your H's affair last & how did you find out about it?
