Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
Really need to be open and honest with each other. Forgetting that the cheating never happened is not healthy and will not work. It has to be dealt with head on. Therapy can help. Maybe even individual therapy. Not all reconciliations last. So do not feel bad. It's really hard to get over an affair. I wish you well and stay strong.
Sorry you are having to go through this. I think the answer really is that there is no way to know. If you leave, you may regret that in short bursts, every once in a while too.
If , by your own admission, the periods of regret are infrequent , then I would give it some more time. If the duration and frequency of these low points start to reduce, you know you will have done the right thing in staying. If they don't reduce or escalate on the other hand, you may have to consider leaving the relationship.
What you can do for now is , explore what triggers those periods of being down and regretful. Once you have identified the triggers, you can work, together with your spouse, on eliminating said triggers or at least avoiding them as much as possible.
All the best with your journey and remember 1 year isn't that large a time in the grander scheme of things. Give yourself time to heal.
Even with trained professionals helping you.
It is perfectly normal to question your judgment. You are not locked into the decision to rugsweep in the hope it gets better.
