There are piles of discussions on this site devoted to retrieving deleted text messages, voice mails, emails, and other cell phone/internet data.

With the President's Surveillance Program (implemented by GWB just after 9/11), apparently the National Security Agency ("NSA") has done all the hard work for us.

My question is: Okay, so how do WE get those records??? How can I obtain copies of the phone conversations and text messages my wife had with her AP? Something tells me a standard FOIA request would be insufficient.

Tere are programs you can download... But sometimes a phone needs to be jailbroken. There are also devices that connect phone to pc usb. The problem, however can exist,where a phone can only store so much data and after a period of time an old text may be over written by a new one. Texts will come in fragmented. Words that have been frequently used will also show up, as well as search history, etc. The sooner a phone is made available for "surveillance" post infiedelity the greater chance of receiving more info. I
I also believe - if my memory serves me correctly- deleted data can be retrieved from an i-phone through different configurations through the i tunes back up. I am not tech savvy at all, so this did not work for me. I know there are services out there that, if you can provide both the macbook and i phone they can obtain the deleted files for you.
Android or other phones.. I have no idea.

I know about all the ways to extract information from the phone. (And have paid a small fortune to digital forensics companies to dig as deep as possible). I'm talking about getting access to all the stuff that Big Brother is holding.

Nope. If they back up to an Apple ID and you can get the passwords to the apple ID then you can get the texts. Theres a program you can buy. Used for teens. In my case we shared an apple ID so I had all the info.

No programs to install on the phone.

My husband had an emotional affair and when he got caught he deleted the emails I was not fast enough to read. He permanently deleted them Is there anyway to get them back. I have busted him in so many lies and I feel like I still do not know everything. Some people feel he also was with some of the women.

I don't use gmail but I know some mail programs will let you recover deleted mail if it is within a certain time limit.
