One of my best friends (we'll call her Jane Doe) just scolded me for cussing out my husbands ex/former/ ... mistress. I was hurt when she did this. She told me that I needed to forgive that girl, and the whole time I'm thinking, 'what the hell, you're my friend ... not her's!'

I'm going to give your friend the benefit of the doubt and say maybe the other friend doesn't know for sure and it's just gossip; however your friend was wrong to scold you. You have every right to feel how you feel for as long as you feel it.

I have a good friend that was very supportive in the beginning and now she thinks I should just quit talking about it and quit thinking about it. I think for the most part our friends are well intentioned but if they have not gone through this they don't really get it. I fully believe that no one knows what they would do until they get here, so I try to take what my friend says with a grain of salt.

I have to agree with this statement, a friend of mine tried stilling my hubby, and the way this lady sounds, I be afraid she would go after your husband now that she knows he has cheated on you......

She displays sympathy for the devil? .... I'd get rid of her, those who can't support you are NOT friends. And if she's so inclined to see the OW's point of view or recognize her feelings etc...I'd get rid of her ESPECIALLY if my husband was still with me. I wouldnt trust her at all.

I don't know how many times stories like yours have made me truly value my friends in the 6 months I've been here. My friends have offered me nothing but support and love since dday. They've offered opinions, but never scolded or threatened or any of the other horrible things I've heard. My friends are the best. I say drop this one. Not because of what you heard about her, but because she's not worthy of your friendship.
