Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
I think he needs to make it very clear to the OW that their relationship is over. He can call her and put her on speaker, or he can write her a letter and you mail it, and there is always a restraining order.
Next he needs to get into therapy. And you need to be seeing your own therapist. You are living with a lot of pain, not only from the infidelity, but your fertility problems. Cheaters tend to lie in marriage counseling. I'd put that on the shelf.
You don't have to make up your mind today or tomorrow. See how you feel after you both have spent time in therapy.
Regarding the embryos... you can always adopt them and have the adoptive parents implant them.
Because the last thing you need is to feel guilty about killing them.
He hasn't shown any character traits that are becoming a good father to begin with.
It may have been a blessing to not have children with him given his actions/behavior.
You don't have to rush to make a decision. It takes time to be able to discern whether or not he is even worth taking back.
If I didn't have a young child with my wife when she confessed to cheating I likely would have just ended it. If I found out that she was also planning to divorce me anyways I certainly would have just left her.
The question is what happens when the next trade up opportunity happens?
(BTW I'm not questioning your worth in any sense as any woman who would have an affair with a married man is of very poor quality)
I felt all of those things at one time. I stayed with my husband and lived 20 more years of hell. For a while he did everything right and it looked like he was really changing. Then it all stopped. And then it all started again. And again he was begging for forgiveness, excuses that usually involved "it's your fault it happened" or "you forgot about me" or "i'm sorry i was wrong and it wont happen again until the next time".
As time went on, those excuses turned to anger and resentment on his part and mine. I know there are two cliche. One being "cheaters never change" and the other being "you should forgive and move on". But remember "Hurt me once, shame on you. Hurt me twice, shame on me".
Whatever you decide protect yourself.
