Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
I had no idea until I became a betrayed spouse, came to DS and began reading. So many cheats have multiple contacts./victims/ partners. Read over at Cheater's A if you want to hear about how many these married 'run; at one time. It sounds very deliberate. I have experienced married men stalking as deliberate. And this is an aspect of infidelity; that not only the betrayed family/spouse suffer.
The internet has enabled plenty of terrible behavior, and those injured and affected countenancing the behavior does the rest.. that allos this to go on. I think quite a few who post here are married to highly symptomatic but as yet undiagnosed sex addicts I think I was possibly married to one too. There is treatment, but that won't happen unless the situation is grasped.
Check out Spouses of Sex Addicts here, Spouses/Partners of SA's here at DS.
Infidelity is more that the suffering of the individual family and spouse, horrendous as that is....everyone, the entire culture, is being affected
by sex addiction and infidelity.

Did marrieds always behave this way? And I just would NOT see it?
Everything seems pretty dire and dirty to me these days, after seeing what I have seen.
My heart goes out to whomever asks the questions that may change the minds and the behaviors. Thank you for raising the point for us all to discuss. We are all affected.
There has to be more to addressing infidelity than solely blaming the OP (or dozens of OP's) and letting the behavior go for the sake of saving the marriage temporarily. Because the behavior does not seem to stop, rather escalates....
Getting caught may be the best thing that ever happened to a Cheat, because being a Sex Addict seems a rough way to go. And if there isn't an intervention, seems to go downhill.
After Dday, with my head still spinning and reeling and feeling like I was standing in the rubble of a disaster, I was trying to decide what kind of help i should get and my inclination was that I needed help with sex addiction / infidelity. That is what I asked for when seeking out a counselor. It's not the direction we ended up going with our counseling because it wasn't a straight up sex addiction, but there was definitely a powerful addictive factor involved.
