I saw an ad for Hilton Hotels in a magazine and the slogan said: "Cheat on your husband with the guy you married." Married was in italics.

I get the point of the ad.

The starting to build resentment part of me says...Wow, so that basically says your husband has changed a lot and is no longer the great guy you married?

I don't know.

Feeling bitter I guess.

It is just SAD. Infidelity is EVERYWHERE and I will admit I never realized just HOW much until it became part of my world.
I, too, find myself feeling bitter...and disgusted.
I am willing to bet that those in the marketing depart who come up with the "clever" ad campaigns have never walked in the shoes of a BS or --CS for that matter.

My husband is in a job that it is common to hear about the philandering that is going on. My H said so and so didn't take his W to a soft ball tournament he took some skanky chick, and obviously they were "together" ... I made a phone call to his W. Told her she needed to look into this, she did and he got caught. And that wasn't the first time I have turned a CS into his BS. I figured I would want someone to do the same for me.

Jaymee the intention was to rekindle what they had and I see that, but that was the moment when I felt my attitude going from shock to resentment about my current relationship. So it is on me and the way I chose to read it.

I do think it's sad though that the person someone marries would be considered different from who they "become" years down the road.

We all change, that's life. I was 16 when I met him. I am 44 now. Of course I have changed, I have kids, grandkids, a career. I think I have changed for the better.

Since I found out my husband cheated on me and the deceiving facts about it all, I feel like I don't know who I married. I find myself saying who is this guy, the guy I "married" would have never done the things this man has done.

I csn understand the ad triggering for bs but at the same time if more marriages could learn to recapture some sparks maybe there would be less affairs.
