Tonight, on the way home from helping my wife clean a house and office, we ordered some Chinese food to-go for dinner. We got home and ate. She took one fortune cookie and I finally got around to opening mine.

I read the fortune, and about croaked. Gabi asked me, "What?" I said, "This can't be good."

I read her the fortune and this is what it said, I kid you not:

"An unexpected relationship will become permanent."

I guess I'm glad I got it instead of Gabi.

My day's not complete until I have a bit of irony. This one fits the bill nicely.

I have to agree with Lisa...if it means anything at all....not likely that it does...maybe it means your current relationship with your wife. I mean, after D-day, did you really "expect" to have the relationship you have now? So, I think the meaning, if any, is in the eyes of the beholder.

Could be. Just, my relationship with Gabi is now 33 years if you include our dating time. By now it seems pretty permanent and not at all unexpected. Remember, this is a fortune cookie. It would mean this unexpected relationship hasn't happened yet.

Not that I put any stock in fortune cookies. Just funny that this one meant to be a positive thing, isn't so positive for a married person. Especially for one that's been cheated on.
