Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
It was not YOUR conduct that ended the relationship. I am sure you are both fine, honest individuals. Remind yourself about that.
We all have trust issues now. That would be silly if we didn't. So, we have learned some tough lessons and plan to take the lessons with us...sounds wise and smart to me.
First dates are always sucky. Especially when you arent' ready for it. So? Be NOT ready until you are ready to date. You have been thru alot and need some time. So be it. Have fun until then.
Don't go on some date to be in a relationship with someone. Go out to meet people. Period. Meet new people. Broaden horizons. Have fun. Just try to meet people to go to a movie with later, or grab a dinner, or a beer, or play some cards. A date does not mean a relationship. It means meeting someone new.
Yeah, been there. I was married for 20 years and hit the dating scene again. It was hard, but I decided that I was not looking for a new husband, but only someone to hang with now and then. Taking that attitude helps. Then you don't really care if it works out or not...
(Well, damn, I should say that I was a bit of a cougar for a few years, but finally went on a 'meet and greet' and met one wonderful man...and am still with him almost 6 months later and loving the crap out of him...Come on, this stuff happens when you aren't looking...)
Sooooo, relax...have fun...enjoy where you are right now...L~
I am up front with men who ask me out. I am not looking for a hook up, one night stand OR a relationship at this time. I am working on me and making sure I have dealt with every demon inside me due to my ex's infidelity. I also need a really strong man. He has to be man enough to handle my independance, my ability to exist on my own without him AND my insistance on total honesty. If they can't handle it they can move along.
Change how you look at "dating" and try to have fun with it.
