Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
H told me he loved her, but not like the way he loved me(his words)?!? He gave something away that was mine, and he didn't give it a second thought.
So, do I need to know how when where and what position? NO. I know the why!H was weak, selfish and got his ego stroked at a very high price.
Some say they need to know everything. Just think carefully before you open pandoras box!
Prayers for you!
I recommend at the least that you get tested for STDs. as much as he'll try to minimize the iea that he may have infected himself and you with an STD, it is not out of the realm of possibility.
Now the person has to be 100% honest and lay it all out for it to work but lets face facts 100% honesty is something these people have some trouble with.
It is very painful to go through but I made and keep making my wife come clean when I catch her in a lie. Letting her keep her actions to her self as fond memories felt like letting her off the hook. She even admitted to me that having to retell her actions made her see how she was acting and who she was becoming.
Neither way is right or wrong, you have to decide what is right for you and what you can live with. However be careful what you wish for sometimes knowledge is just as hard to live with as not knowing.
Half truths, avoidance, leaving things out...all of that is lying!!!
and..the problem is that eventually the truth will come out..and then you get a major set back!
What you thought you were healing from...turns out to be much worse! and now... he still won't come clean...you don't need to know the horrible details but ..you do have a right to know...when did the emotional affair begin...when did the physical affair begin...how much contact was there? how often? and when did the affair end and why....you also have the right to ask if there has been no contact ...and for how long.....
unfortunately, this new information will push back your healing time...
sorry for your pain...
Have wondered this myself. My husband had a fling when we were early married, which he told me about. He was with her, in the back of "my" car (at age 27) THEN CAME HOME AND SLEPT WITH ME! Fast forward 29 years, during which he was a good husband/father, he is working away from home, and has another fling, ending up twice in bed with her..I needed to know all the details...as more things were revealed, it was a hurtful setback ..constantly thought "howcould he cuddle up in bed with another woman, let her "do"things to him etc??Its awful, isnt it? My conclusion is that men are somehow able to do this, in spite of loving their wives..a physical/sex thing...they dont need to be that emotionally involved..something to do with "spreading their seed around" (although it didnt work..i know, I SPOKE TO ow Ha Ha! so he says he just embarrassed himself! aNYWAY, i think that some men, nice people/good husbands that they normally are, when it comes to their d--ks, see the sex act as a very basic urge, which overpowers their good sense. They go into animal MODE,chasing other women. Myself, like many women, couldnt contemplate jumping naked into bed with another man, especially after a long marriage. However, he had done it before and so it was easier to cross that barrier. So hard for us to accept, I KNOW...BUT we have to if we want to have a happy marriage in the future.
He hasn't shared with me the rest of what has happened during the past 4 years and THAT is what is driving me crazy.
In the end it is your call, but I warn you to be ready to read or hear just about anything.
For whatever you decide, you'll have support here.
