My wife really opened up last night at our couples ministry. It was and meant so much for me that she had the guts to own up to some of the hurt she has caused me. So much of the time she just always seemed emotionless and she wanted so badly for it (the A) to just go away. I have tried to read books with her and things but she never seemed interested in doing that or reading about affairs. She answered all of my questions many times and has really changed and accepted what happened. Last night she did not mention anything about the affair, but it was obvious in the part in the work book that she was talking about had to do with affairs.

We have only been going for two weeks now and sitting with other couples has been a huge step for us and a healthy one for sure.

She said that she was so thankful that I loved her when she was unlovable. That she really did not deserve me to still be loving and that she was just really grateful for my love and told me how much she loved me.

It was just really good to see some emotion I understand how and why CS seem to just want to put the past behind them. I also understand how that is just not a possible thing for the BS to do, and that the marriage always needs lots of attention after the affair if there is any hope to stay married, in a not deadened loveless marriage. I am thankful for having a wife that has changed and is very remorseful for the damage that was caused. I don't think she understands just how much pain it caused me, that she wants to focus on how good things are and live in the present. I don't think many CS truly understand but a lot try to and most have pain too just not the same pain. I don't know that a CS can really know with out the BS doing the same thing back to them and even then I don't think it would be the same.
