Darbi has a good point here and one that I so agree with. Sure, you make those changes to yourself, FOR yourself. Do it for you. Not him.
I know how you feel. Was married for 20 myself. Pulled the plug on that clown and his girlyfriend Spammy. I did the same thing. But I had to do it for me and not for him. My thought was 'I did this for you for 20 years and it wasn't enough? Now, asshole, I do it for me and you can go to hell.'
So, if he is lonely, good. If he is struggling, Good. But, more importantly, there is you, rising above this, getting on your feet...and being hot.

I am learning that about my STBX. I gave her what she wanted, by letting her leave. The license to party and do what she wants. She is starting to see she made a mistake and that I am no longer available to come back to. So what will she do? More of the same no doubt. So she hasn't learned.
