When I read posts like this, where a spouse is blatantly keeping a private life, by guarding their phone, sexting with women, and deceiving their spouse, it makes my blood boil. You need to get to the bottom of this, and now. Do whatever you need to in order to get some concrete evidence, then hit him with it.
I wish you well.
Ask him to get rid of his KIK app, that you aren't comfortable with it.......see how that goes. That will tell you all you need to know......unless you don't want to really know.
As for the exwife, you are the wife now.....I'd call her up myself. I had to do that once.
Another thing is that if you make a threat you HAVE to follow through or they know that they own you.
If you tell him that you are getting a divorce if he doesn't hand over his phone right now (before he deletes his texts) then you better follow through.
Asking him if he has had an affair or not is pointless. He will just lie if he's gone to those lengths to hide it. Why would he confess? Just straight up ask for the phone and give him an ultimatum. If he doesn't...be sure he'll delete everything and show you later. Then he can gaslight you by saying, "See, nothing on the phone...you're crazy."
